The first session of the City of Bayswater Cultural Plan development workshop is underway!

Maylands Public Toilet
There has been a lot of posting about the new public toilet in Maylands, so I am going to address it here. These are my comments and are not on behalf of anyone else.
The PTA have categorically said no to a public toilet in the old Parcels Office, and no to a public toilet being located anywhere on their land. Maylands Public Toilet After nine long years, we will be getting a new public toilet in Maylands town centre. Whilst not the best location overall, it is the best location that is available for use. The ideal location is at the Maylands Train Station and is one that Lisa Baker MLA, myself, the Maylands Business Association and The City of Bayswater have been requesting from the PTA for many many years. New Street Trees for Eighth Avenue, Maylands
Angophora Costata (also known as smooth-barked apple, rose gum, or Sydney red gum) has been selected as the new street trees for 8th Avenue - to replace the Illawarra Flame trees that have struggled in that environment. This species gets to a Height of 10m + and a Width of 6m +. The trunk produces a rust red/brown coloured bark. It has skinny dark green leaves and produces masses of snowy white flowers in summer.

Peninsula Road Works
As part of the City’s Road rehabilitation program, part of Peninsula Road has been scheduled for resurfacing - commencing this month. A right turn pocket into Fogerthorpe Crescent has been designed to accommodate the safety of turning vehicles as part of these works.
There will be temporary closure of Peninsula Road - between Wall St and Joseph St in order to accommodate these works.
