Street Verges Policy

I’m really pleased that last night Council supported changes to the City of Bayswater Street Verges Policy. In December I requested that the policy come to our Policy Review and Development Committee with a view to make changes in order to allow residents to incorporate rocks and logs as part of their verge gardens.

So, the Verge policy now includes: List of acceptable treatments - “Rocks, Logs and Gravel materials contained with natural Verge landscaping that does not present a hazard or impact adversely on the verge drainage capacity.”

At the PRD Committee we also discussed how to free up the policy in order to allow for partnerships such as the Watercorp waterwise Verge rebate scheme - which will give residents rebates towards installation of a waterwise Verge.
