Friends of Maylands Lakes

It’s just a smidge over 3 years since, as a new Councillor, I held a public meeting down at the Maylands Lakes to address concerns about their health. From that meeting the Friends of the Maylands Lakes was formed and together we have secured money to assist in restoring the Lakes health. This isn’t a small, nor fast, process. One of the steps is revegetation of the Lakes edges for both filtration and habitat. Thank you to all the volunteers who pitched in this morning planting sedges along the edge of Lake Brearley.
