Monthly Report - April 2018

Trees on Private Property and Street Verges

The City is inviting public comment on the draft policy and scheme amendment in relation to trees on private property and the street verge. The purpose of the draft policy and scheme amendment is to integrate trees into new developments and to combat the loss of trees in our urban areas.

The City of Bayswater has initiated a draft Local Planning Policy (draft policy) and amendment 78 to Town Planning Scheme No.24 (scheme amendment) in relation to trees on private property and the street verge and is inviting comments from the community during the public advertising period concluding 21 May 2018. A copy of the draft policy can be found here and a copy of a report in relation to the scheme amendment can be found here:

Play Space Strategy

We are reviewing all our current play spaces and looking at different ways of providing play experiences to the community in the future. We'd like to know where your favourite play spaces are and which parks and places you like to go to, so we can get an idea of what you would like to see in your local area. The City will then take your feedback and work on a strategy to plan, design and implement play spaces in the future. This doesn't mean we are changing all the current play spaces and playgrounds; we want to hear from the community about what works and what doesn't so we can do things better.

More information on how to be involved, or to complete the online survey, can be found here: https://engage.bayswater.wa.gov.au/play-space-strategy
