Councillor Column - Connecting with the Environment
In today's modern world fostering a connection to the natural world and promoting environmental awareness is becoming increasingly important.
This year the City is holding Maylands Green Day on April 22 at Shearn Memorial Park to celebrate community, culture, creativity and conservation.
The purpose of the day is to encourage people to understand and protect their environment, promote sustainability and embrace the natural spaces they have in their own neighbourhoods.
To celebrate the day we will have food trucks and a long table lunch, buskers, a Scitech display, craft tents, face painters, a Fern Gully Greenery Wall you can have your photo taken on, a Telsa car display and lots of stall holders and eco-friendly children's activities.
Even the trees in Shearn Park in Maylands will dress up for the day, so come along from 11am to 4pm and share in the fun!
