Councillor Column - Strategic Community Plan

The City's Strategic Community Plan (SCP) is the cornerstone of what is known as the Integrated Planning Framework, which also includes our Corporate Business and Long-Term Financial Plans.

The SCP sets out our community's vision and aspirations for the kind of City they want to live in and the types of services they want Council to deliver in years to come.

The first SCP was adopted in 2013 and over the coming months the City will undertake a major review to ensure it remains up-to-date and relevant. As part of that process, Council will consult with the community to ensure the new SCP reflects the needs of our residents.

The strategies and plans that form the Integrated Planning Framework help Council to plan for the future, determine priorities and effectively allocate resources.

In that way, we can make sure we will be delivering services and programmes that contribute to making our City an even better place in which to live, work, visit and play.

I would like to encourage everyone in the community to take the opportunity to have their say so that the SCP truly reflects your views.
