Councillor Column - Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP)

Regardless of race, religion, age, education or disability the City of Bayswater wants to ensure that all of the City's residents have the same opportunities and access to the City's services.

Councillor Catherine Ehrhardt said that to enable this, the City is revising its Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2011 - 2015 so every individual feels respected and included.

"The City have engaged an Independent Disability Consultant to pinpoint what the City is doing well, and what we can improve on," she said.

"Our aim is to make sure that we make a positive difference to the everyday lives of people who have a disability, their family and carers by being certain that access to our facilities are assessable."

For more information on the DAIP review process, please contact the City’s Senior Community Development Officer on telephone: 9270 4107 or emailinclusion@bayswater.wa.gov.au
