Freshening up Eighth Avenue
Improving Eighth Avenue is an ongoing process. Recently, small café macchiato tables were installed between the armchair style seats, and new pedestrian hoops replaced the old damaged ones at the pedestrian crossing. The remaining yellow parking sign poles will soon be replaced to match the new poles on the street, and we are preparing for the planting of new trees in the median in July.
By Spring time, Eighth Avenue will be looking fresher than ever 🌳 #EighthAve #MaylandsT

Councillor Column - Maylands' first public parklet
Visitors to the Maylands Town Centre will have a new spot to sit and relax after the City approved the first public parklet to be installed along Eighth Avenue. Located in a parking bay outside Milkd Café, this Maylands Business Association project is designed to provide public seating, alfresco dining, and plenty of greenery with a roof of overhead vines. Councillor Column - Eighth Avenue
Eighth Avenue between Whatley Crescent and Guildford Road is one of the major retail and café strips in the Maylands town centre. The strip attracts locals and tourists who want to catch-up over great coffee, tuck into good food, scratch that shopping itch or pop into one of Maylands' boutique bars. Last year, community members at the City's Town Centre Placemaking Workshop told us that an improved Ninth Avenue, and a greener town centre, were top priorities. Now this bustlin
